Wedding websites for Cape Elizabeth weddings

Cape Elizabeth is Portland Head Light scenery with Portland lodging. Your website should be built around that, not around a template that has never heard of this town.

Getting married in Cape Elizabeth

Cape Elizabeth gives you some of the best coastline in Maine about fifteen minutes from a city with plenty of hotel rooms. Portland Head Light at Fort Williams is the most photographed lighthouse in the state, and Two Lights and Crescent Beach are minutes away.

The catch, and the thing your website exists to solve, is that Cape Elizabeth itself is residential. There is very little lodging in town. Essentially every out-of-state guest will be sleeping in Portland or South Portland and driving out, which means your site needs a hotel recommendation, a drive time, and a firm answer on the shuttle question.

Get that right and it is one of the smoothest weddings in Maine to attend. Get it wrong and you have forty people trying to find parking in a public park on a Saturday in July.

What your Cape Elizabeth guests will ask

Answer these once on your website and you stop answering them one text at a time.

🛏️

Where do guests actually sleep?

Portland or South Portland, almost without exception. Say this early and clearly — there is very little lodging in Cape Elizabeth itself.

🚐

Shuttle or drive?

With everyone staying in Portland, a shuttle is more often worth it here than almost anywhere else in Maine. Put the pickup point and time on the site.

🗼

Fort Williams and Portland Head Light

A public park, free to enter, and busy on summer weekends. Fine for photos with a plan, difficult without one.

🅿️

Parking at the parks

Limited and it fills early in season. If any part of your day is at a public park, guests need a parking instruction, not just an address.

🏖️

The beaches

Crescent Beach and Kettle Cove are both close and both worth a Saturday morning. Some have entry fees and seasonal hours.

✈️

Airport

PWM is fifteen minutes away, which is about as convenient as Maine gets for a fly-in guest.

Getting to Cape Elizabeth

Portland Jetport (PWM) is about 15 minutes away. From Boston, about 2 hours.

Cape Elizabeth wedding questions

Is there anywhere to stay in Cape Elizabeth?
Very little. Plan on Portland or South Portland for essentially all of your guests and give them the drive time.
How far is Cape Elizabeth from the Portland Jetport?
About fifteen minutes, which makes it very easy for guests flying in.
Can we get married at Portland Head Light?
Fort Williams is a public park with its own rules and permits. Whatever you arrange, guests will still need parking guidance from you.
Do we need a shuttle?
More often than not, yes. With everyone staying in Portland it is usually the difference between a smooth day and a parking problem.
